Typically, Pancha Karma, the seasonal cleansing program recommended in Ayurveda, is done atleast seven days in a row, here in the west. In India it is often done for 21 days. It is also usually done at a facility, like a resort, healing center, or spa. In India where labor is inexpensive people can afford to do a 21 day program. In the United States however, a typical Pancha Karma program which promotes vibrant health and healing, can cost anywhere from $1200 to $5000.

To infuse the herbs, add them to the butter at the start or at any point in the process that results in them being dissolved into the ghee. I have experimented with adding herbs at different stages and I found the infusion strength to be Best ghee in india when added right after the butter has melted (just beginning to bubble).



Although mace and nutmeg are both from the same source, they have completely different tastes and cannot be used interchangeably. Mace is used as a flavouring in curries, pickling and relishes.

Eat Mindfully. It doesn't matter if you are eating a twinkie or a salad if you are eating it while running frantic. Sit and eat at here least one meal with awareness. At least once a week, eat one meal in silence. No T.V. etc. Sattvic foods are fresh, and eaten in moderate proportions. Fried, frozen, stale, leftover, and overly spiced foods are not sattvic.

Grain-fed meat is super-high in omega-6 fats, often pushing the ratio of fats to over 1:20! That's horrible, not only for the animal, but for the consumer.

Indian paprika come from a mild chilli pepper grown in the kashmir region of India. When the chilli is ripe, it is sun dried and then ground into a powder to produce a mild tasting spice that is brilliant red. It is sweet just like the more common Hungarian version. Indian Paprika is available in Indian food stores. You can substitute of paprika varieties if you cannot find Indian produced paprika.

I know not everyone agrees, but I'm also trying to equip them with some real life skills that help them function in a food culture that is not all about clean eating, Paleo foods, and organic options (around these parts, at least). Our family has become masters at fueling up ahead of time, packing healthy options to take along, and even bringing those healthy options into parties and restaurants.
